Which Fotably Photo Booth Is Right for Your Event?

September 30, 2026

You picked the venue. You have opinions about the lighting. You are absolutely not letting a sad little photo setup undo all that good taste.

We get it.

The right photo booth depends on what you want guests to do: step into a portrait session, sneak behind a curtain, or keep mingling while the camera comes to them. Here is how our Fotably experiences compare, so you can pick the one that feels like your event.

The quick version: pick your photo moment

Choose Bellows for photographer-led portraits, Classic Enclosed for photo strips behind the curtain, Roaming Frame for playful photos around the room, or Selfie for a guest-operated digital booth. Want an open studio-style photo session? Meet Studio Beam. Want a vintage-camera photographer charming their way through the crowd? That would be Roameo.

Bellows: for the photo they actually frame

If your priority is a gorgeous portrait, start here. The Bellows Portrait Booth pairs the look of a vintage leather bellows camera with a real photographer and our LumiGlow lighting. Guests get a little direction, a little spotlight, and a photo worth keeping.

It is a lovely fit for weddings, galas, and events where the photograph is part of the gift. Think signature black-and-white portraits and a dedicated place to pause, get together, and look ridiculously good.

Choose a digital package or a package with 4-by-6-inch prints. If prints matter to you, make that part of the booking conversation rather than assuming every option includes them.

Pick Bellows when: you want the portrait session to be a destination at your event. Beautiful camera. Beautiful light. Your people looking like your people, on a very good day.

Classic Enclosed: close the curtain. You know what to do.

There is something about a curtain that makes perfectly sensible adults immediately forget how to behave for a camera. We are very much in favor.

The Classic Enclosed photo booth is the sit-down experience: guests step inside, close the curtain, take their photos, and collect real photo strips. Digital copies are available too. Two people sit comfortably; the inevitable friend trying to join the photo is between you and your friends.

Choose this for the nostalgia, the privacy, and the booth itself as part of the room. Available looks and customization options let the experience suit a wedding, a themed party, or a branded event.

Pick Classic Enclosed when: the words “real photo strips” make you happy. Send us your venue details so we can confirm placement and the delivery route before booking.

Roaming Frame: the party does not have to come to the booth

Your guests are scattered between the bar, the dance floor, and that one friend who tells very long stories. Perfect. We will go to them.

With the Roaming Frame, a host carries an interactive antique-style picture frame through the event. Guests take photos and text them to their phones, with digital effects and event branding options available.

It is a natural fit for cocktail hours, receptions, and events where you want people to keep moving. It also deserves a look when a dedicated booth area would interrupt the room’s flow.

Pick Roaming Frame when: you want a playful, social photo moment that comes to the crowd. The frame is part of the fun.

Selfie Booth: your guests are in charge

Some groups need very little encouragement to take another photo. Or seven.

Our Selfie Booth is a freestanding, guest-operated drop-off option. It has a touchscreen, ring lighting, and digital formats including photos, GIFs, and Boomerangs. Guests can text their creations to themselves, and the experience includes an online gallery and personalized image branding.

There is no host with this option. That is the practical difference to keep in mind: your guests run their own sessions instead of being directed by a photographer or approached by a roaming host.

Pick Selfie when: you want an easygoing digital photo station and your crowd is happy to take it from there. Choose a spot people will notice, with a background you actually want in the pictures.

Studio Beam: a little model moment, anyone?

Studio Beam turns the photo op into an open studio-style session. A professional photographer works with studio lighting, and guests can access their portraits through an on-site sharing kiosk and text them to their phones.

It is worth a look for galas, luncheons, sponsor events, and pop-ups where you want the photography to feel like an intentional part of the experience. Event or sponsor branding can be applied to the images before guests share them.

Bellows or Studio Beam? Both put a photographer behind the portrait. Choose Bellows when the vintage camera and dedicated booth setting are part of the attraction. Choose Studio Beam when you picture an open photo-shoot setup built around the photographer and lighting.

Roameo: good manners. Great camera. Works the room.

Roameo brings a photographer into the crowd with a vintage-inspired camera. They approach guests, offer light direction, and create polished black-and-white portraits. Finished images can carry your event branding and are texted to guests’ phones.

We would put this on the shortlist for galas, receptions, museum events, and brand gatherings where the interaction matters as much as the photograph.

Roameo or Roaming Frame? Both come to your guests. Roaming Frame centers on the interactive picture-frame booth and playful digital experience. Roameo centers on a photographer-led portrait and the character of the vintage camera.

Roameo complements your event photographer. It is a guest experience, not a replacement for documenting speeches, details, and the rest of the evening.

A few things to decide before you book

Do you want prints, digital photos, or both?

For classic photo strips, start with Enclosed. For larger portrait prints, look at Bellows’ print package. Selfie, Roaming Frame, Studio Beam, and Roameo emphasize digital delivery. Tell us what you want guests to leave with so we can recommend the right package.

Do you want a dedicated photo area or an experience that moves?

Bellows, Enclosed, Selfie, and Studio Beam give guests a place to go. Roaming Frame and Roameo bring the interaction to them. Share your floor plan, venue access, and event schedule with us. The booth footprint is only part of the decision; guests also need room to enjoy it.

Is this for a wedding or a brand event?

For a wedding, think about the keepsake and how the experience fits the evening. For a corporate event or brand activation, tell us about the audience, sponsor visibility, and any opt-in requirements. We will confirm which customization and guest-sharing options fit your selected experience.

How much does a Fotably photo booth cost?

There is no single price across all six experiences. Your booth choice, date, coverage time, location, print package, and customization can affect the proposal. Follow the links above for current service details, then request a quote for your actual event. Much more useful than comparing two packages that include completely different things.

Still torn? That is what we are here for.

Tell us your date, venue, guest count, and the kind of photo moment you want. A little behind-the-curtain chaos? A portrait your guests put on the mantel? Something that finds them mid-mingle?

We will help you narrow it down and confirm availability for your location. Start with our Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, or Austin service pages, or ask us about your destination event.

Tell us about your event and get a quote. We have opinions about a good photo moment. Clearly.
